The year 2025 began with a powerful act of compassion. In early January, Vantara’s rescue team embarked on its first mission of the year — saving five elephants suffering from neglect and malnutrition in a remote region of central India.[1]

After receiving a report from local authorities, the team mobilized immediately, coordinating with veterinarians, wildlife officers, and transport specialists to ensure a safe and efficient rescue.

Within 48 hours, all elephants were safely relocated to Vantara’s rehabilitation center, marking the start of their journey toward recovery.
